drupa 2008 Review to the Fair

A fortnight long the heart of the International Print Media industry beat in Düsseldorf.

1,971 exhibitors from 52 countries could welcome 391,000 visitors in total from 138 countries, as well as approx. 3000 journalists at the fair ground of Düsseldorf.

From 29 May to 11 June 2008 the team of  Protec Service- und Betriebs GmbH was represented at the drupa 2008 at the booth of our partner company GB Stratum Norway.

Coating on Demand before and after digital print in a so far unimaginable quality was the headline under which we had planned our presence at the fair.

Paper finishing with the possibility of customization, even after coating, with any desired print method, reduction of paper storage costs by reconditioning of the paper before printing, reduction of the friction coefficients, reduction of downtimes and much more were our goals.

For first time presentation world-wide of TRANSEO ® was presented on a production line.

TRANSEO ®, an innovative process of Coating on Demand, for the digital endless print provided a never accomplished finishing quality of the end product.

Known negative characteristics in the paper respectively print process are eliminated and new functions in applied print materials implemented. Extended utilization times, higher productivities, reduced service expenditure, lower costs of the infrastructure, savings in paper, logistic and administration costs result in return of investment (ROI).

TRANSEO ® in connection with Tune Up (a company-own development of Protec service- und Vertriebs GmbH) for the controlled re-humidifying of the printed paper to any moisture grade and for the improvement of evenness for example of paper sheets stacked later.

The friction coefficient of the surface is adjustable to an automated production respectively to the ability to decollate into single sheets when forming sets for a mailing.

To produce shiny coatings with Tune-Up is an individual, optional possibility.
